She attended Queens College, the City University of New York and Reading University, England. Singer taught high school English in New York City and began writing film notes, catalog copy and teachers' guides for film strips. The author and her husband, Steve Aronson, have a poodle, three cats, two doves and a starling. Singer enjoys dog training, hiking, bird-watching, gardening, the movies, tai chi and computer adventure games. She is also a dedicated Star Trek fan. The author has been the host of the AOL Children's Writers Chat Room. Singer is best known for her novels, although she writes almost all types of children's books and has published over 60 books.
