He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Business Administration in 1986. Green's writing career began at Syracuse University where he was a Rossman Scholar for Humanities, Phi Beta Kappa, and co-valedictorian of his class. In 1986, he was selected in the first round of the NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons where he was star defensive end for eight years. During his NFL career, Green was a commentator for National Public Radio, wrote columns for USA Today and received his law degree with honors from Syracuse University. Green now focuses his time on his family, his law practice and his writing. He coaches both middle and high school kids in football and wrestling.
