Before beginning her writing career, Bryant worked as a French and German teacher, running coach, bank teller, waitress, retail clothing clerk, picture framer and an assistant on a road crew. When she is not writing, she enjoys visiting bookstores, art galleries, museums, listening to music, swimming or doing aerobics at the YMCA, working in her yard and feeding the birds.
