Brian P. Cleary Website:www.briancleary.com Birthplace: Lakewood, OH Author Biography Brian P. Cleary was born in 1959 in Lakewood, Ohio. He earned a B.A. from John Carroll University in Communications in 1982. He has written cartoon gags which have appeared in more than 600 newspapers worldwide and written humor essays for national and local magazines and newspapers. Cleary has worked on licensed properties from Garfield to Opus and Bill to Ziggy to Nickelodeon characters. His influences include Dr. Seuss, Tom Waits, E.E. Cummings, Shel Silverstein, Mad Magazine and Ogden Nash. His Words Are Categorical series is well known, as is his Math Is Categorical series.
