His undergraduate degree is from Princeton University and he was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. Barron received an M.B.A. and a J.D. from Harvard University. He was president of a venture capital firm and helped develop a national child-care operation. The author and his wife, Currie, have three boys and two girls, all named after mountains. His hobbies include hiking, travel and cross-country skiing. He also enjoys author visits. Barron is best known for his fantasy novels such as his five book epic about Merlin.
