He attended the New School for Social Research and Hofstra University. Yorinks studied ballet and acting. He performed and wrote for the American Mime Theatre. In 1979, he founded the Moving Theatre, writing and serving as its Artistic Director. Yorinks has also been an instructor in theatre arts at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The author is best known for writing books about ballet, music, and acting. "Hey, Al" won the Caldecott Medal in 1987. Yorinks has also written under the pen name Alan Yaffe. Updating Results ...
