Lee J. Ames Birthplace: New York City, NY USA Author Biography Lee Ames was born January 8, 1921 in New York City. He attended Columbia University. Ames was in the U.S. Army during World War II and then had his own advertising agency, taught vocational art, and worked animating films for Walt Disney. The author and his wife, Jocelyn, have two grown children, Alison and Jonathan. He is sometimes published under the name Jonathan David.
