He received a degree in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute. Lewin earned money to go to school with a summer job as a wrestler and he continued wrestling for 15 years. He also worked as an illustrator for adventure magazines. His wife, Betsy, is also a children's illustrator. Lewin loves to travel, which is where he gets many of his inspirations for books. The author and illustrator is best known for his picture books. He has illustrated over one hundred books for children. "Judy Scuppernong" was a Boston Globe-Horn Book Fiction Honor Book in 1991. "Peppe the Lamplighter" was a Caldecott Honor Book in 1994. "I Was a Teenage Professional Wrestler" was an ALA Notable Book of the Year. Updating Results ...
