He attended American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville, Tennessee. At Fisk University, he organized sit-in demonstrations at segregated lunch counters in Nashville. In 1963, Lewis was known as one of the "Big Six" leaders of the Civil Movement and helped plan the March on Washington. Mr. Lewis is the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 5th congressional district, serving since 1987. In recent years, he helped create a series of graphic novels about his work in the Civil Rights Movement. March: Book Three received the Robert F.
