He began writing short stories in sixth grade and finished his first novel in high school. He attended the University of New Hampshire. Philbrick has worked as a longshoreman, carpenter, and a boat builder. He made his literary debut in 1982 under the name W. R. Philbrick. Some of his work has also been published under the pseudonym William R. Danz. Mostly True Adventures Of Homer P. Figg was awarded the 2010 Newbery Honor. Updating Results ...
