School Library Journal - 05/01/2024 Gr 3–6—Young readers familiar with the Disney animated series, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, will enjoy another new addition to the franchise. In this adventure, Moon Girl—or Lunella when off-duty—is after a group of thieves on roller skates. Lunella has been recruited to join a roller derby team at her family's rink. Pre-occupied with impressing her new teammates, Lunella ignores her dinosaur and best friend and nearly misses an important link between her new teammates and her Moon Girl Mission. Bold and action-packed artwork will have young readers of the series feeling like they are watching the cartoon. The plot is predictable, much like a Saturday morning cartoon, but there are many feel-good moments as well as empowering lessons for readers. VERDICT This title will be a welcome addition to any collection looking for strong media-tie ins.—Esther Keller - Copyright 2024 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
