Summary:
Bunny loved the big wide wood, but one day a voice told him to leave. So he hopped away to a new life. That's when he saw Willow, tall and strong, soft and steady, who invited him to rest beneath her branches. Until one day, a storm howled into the clearing. Animals ran to Willow to shelter beneath her branches. Willow shielded the animals and protected them with all of her might. In the morning, the storm cleared, and Willow was changed forever.

Booklist - 08/08/2023 Though Bunny is content in his forest home, he realizes he must find a safer spot to grow up. After happening upon a perfect tree in a clearing, he politely requests sanctuary among her leaves and roots. Willow happily acquiesces, parting her branches and welcoming the small animal into her haven. A seasonal montage sees Bunny snacking on clover, carefully grooming himself, and staying warm in a den among Willow’s vast roots. The peace is shattered when a fierce storm sweeps in. Willow offers shelter to all the terrified animals in the clearing. They all survive, though Willow comes out tattered. A resourceful Bunny rallies the animals to return her kindness by straightening her leaves and clearing the undergrowth. The cozy, kindhearted story is beautifully told, mixing moments of sweet simplicity and light peril with a gentle hand. Gorgeous digital illustrations glow on the page, capturing nature’s elemental extremes while also intimating the quiet rapport between the bunny and the tree. A gratifying glimpse of generous friendship. - Copyright 2023 Booklist.
