Full Text Reviews:

Booklist - 10/01/2018 “Honey is a sweet, sticky food. . . . But where does honey come from?” So begins this installment in the Where Food Comes From series (4 titles), which lets little ones buzz alongside honey bees gathering pollen and nectar, and the beekeepers who collect the honey. With short, narrative sentences, the bee’s journey is described from hive to flower and back again, where nectar begins its transformation into honey. Appealing photos of bees in flight and in their hives often appear as cell-like hexagons on the page, and one zoomed-in picture labels the various parts of this insect’s body. “Bee Facts” and “Wonder Words” (pollen, stamen) appear throughout, imparting a good sense of honey production and how bees use it themselves. The larger importance of bees concludes this sweet offering. - Copyright 2018 Booklist.
