Other - 02/03/2025 Puppy energy powers this chapter book series launch about a litter of magical dogs charged with protecting Earth. When their parents go missing from their "superpack" in an alternate puppy dimension, it’s up to supersized, superstrong Moose and his talking canine siblings to find them (so says their feline mentor, Shadow). First through the magic portal to the human world is Moose, who literally crash-lands in a park where he befriends young compulsive list maker Violet. After Violet, whose skin tone matches the hue of the page, persuades her two fathers that the family needs a puppy-particularly one who breaks all the furniture and generates clouds of drool, fur, and sparkles-the enormous, St. Bernard-esque pooch and petite child become a dynamic duo ? la Clifford the Big Red Dog and Emily Elizabeth. Readers will find humor and goofiness in Moose’s wild, naive exploits-including a museum heist-which he tackles with all the grace of an affable bull in a China shop. Powell (Love the Earth Mad Libs) keeps the action wagging while playful b&w illustrations by Humphrey (Rosie’s Wild Ride) depict Moose and Violet’s hijinks. Ages 6-8. (Apr.) - Copyright 2025
