Full Text Reviews:

School Library Journal - 06/01/2020 Gr 2–5—Beavers, moles, and ostriches may all be admirable and humble animals, but, as the latest installment of Poliquin's series proves, eels take the superhero mantle to another level. The book discusses 10 distinct superpowers and provides a glossary, further reading, resources, and a few silly asides in the form of quizzes and callouts. The text is packed with genuinely fascinating and almost unbelievable information, making it easy for readers to fall in love with the featured eel, Olenka. As with previous installments, there is no table of contents and some of the vocabulary might be a bit tricky for the target audience. The illustrations include a bounty of maps and informative visuals. Ultimately, this book is engaging, knowledgable, and worthy of a reader's attention. VERDICT A solid addition to the series, this latest field guide will win over fans. Recommended as a general purchase for school and public libraries.—Taylor Worley, Springfield P.L., OR - Copyright 2020 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
