Full Text Reviews:

School Library Journal - 05/01/2019 Gr 3–5—These overviews focus on the most interesting characteristics of wild lizards. Each spread presents a few sentences about habitat, features, or behavior opposite a full-page photograph. Close-up views of particular attributes, such as a gecko's eyes are especially effective. All titles also include visuals of the lizard eating prey (or, in the iguana's case, plants), with the disappointing exception of the Komodo dragon, where a solo photo of a water buffalo is the only related image. Final pages show newly born lizards. The text has an easy-to-read, slightly informal style that conveys facts cohesively, with just a couple missteps. Referring to the Gila monster as a "dragon," for example, could lead to confusion with Komodo dragons. VERDICT This series contains generally appealing titles about high-interest reptiles. - Copyright 2019 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
