School Library Journal - 02/01/2024 Gr 4–6—Expand your knowledge of the universe with this comprehensive guide to the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Chapter topics include the moon, the planets, the sun, satellites, and stargazing. This book helps readers prepare for their future stargazing efforts. Several apps and websites are recommended, as well as the minimum amount of equipment one might need to start looking up. Charming illustrations are found throughout. There are "fun fact" boxes about various celestial objects on nearly every page. "Look it up" boxes are scattered throughout every chapter and lead users to interesting space websites. "Your turn" boxes encourage readers to work on their stargazing skills with tips and tricks. Each chapter wraps up with a list of more advice for getting the most out of stargazing. Back matter includes glossary, index, suggested resources and web apps, and a notes section. VERDICT A good addition to nonfiction collections for a well-rounded and detailed view of the night sky.—Kristin J.
