Booklist - 12/01/2019 Cawthon and Cooper present three novellas set in the world of the video-game franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s. “Into the Pit” finds Oswald discovering a cordoned-off ball pit at Jeff’s Pizza that allows him to travel to the 1980s. He gets more than he bargained for, however, when one of the animatronics switches places with his dad. In “To Be Beautiful,” lonely Sarah finds a gorgeous girl robot in the city dump, and she takes it home. When she awakens the robot, it gives Sarah a necklace, promising to grant her wish to become beautiful. Soon, Sarah’s body begins to transform, but what will happen if she removes the necklace? Lastly, “Count the Ways” features Millie, who wants to disappear. When she gets trapped in an animatronic Freddy in her grandpa’s workshop, she experiences a twisted version of “This Is Your Life” as Freddy tries to decide the manner in which she will die.
