School Library Journal - 10/01/2024 Gr 2–3—It's Puffin's first day at a new school and his plans to make friends prove to be more challenging than he thought. Everyone is calling him "Puffy," and nobody has ever heard of puffins before. He is buddied up with Penguin, the coolest bird at school, but Penguin is too busy to help Puffin. Luckily, Puffin is a determined bird and decides to join the drama club to find a place for himself. He saves the day when trouble arises on show night, proving to everyone what a puffin can do. Filled with bird jokes and new school drama, this early graphic novel will put a smile on readers' faces. The illustrations contribute to the quirky humor and cute factor and perfectly reflect the writing. VERDICT A great graphic novel for early readers who enjoy funny books and cute animals.—Julie Kurtis - Copyright 2024 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
