School Library Journal - 03/01/2025 K-Gr 3—A colorful, vibrant romp through dino land, where dinosaurs celebrate their birthday in fun and familiar ways. Following the seasons, the birthdays start in fall with T. rex, who celebrates with a sports-themed party. In winter, Maiasaura picks a snowy party, while in spring, Tricera chooses to go to a skate rink. The book ends with Pterodactyl twins having a summer pool party. There is a fun pattern with the Pterodactyl twins showing up to each party in a disguise connected to the theme. At their party, the other dinosaurs trick the twins by dressing up as sharks. With Wheeler's clever rhyming text and Gott's amusing illustrations, this is a perfect read aloud for Dinovember or any time of year. Children will relate to the themed parties and enjoy Gott's creative details that perfectly match the story. VERDICT Combining birthdays and dinosaurs is a perfect match. This book is guaranteed to have high circulation—best to order more than one!—Heidi Dechief - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
