Summary:
Choo choo! Kids love trains! Especially the classic steam engines found in amusement parks and zoos. But what about a super-speeder in Japan that zooms along the track at 361 miles an hour? Or the world's longest freight train, stretching a whopping 4.6 miles? Or futuristic railways in the sky? In Spanish.

School Library Journal - 04/12/2024 K-Gr 2—A photo-filled nonfiction text for train lovers, this early reader presents the different types of trains and how they work. Early elementary students will not only learn about the history of trains but also about how they came to be. Although trains are no longer the main way to travel, there are still many people who have a preference for this locomotive, especially the super-fast bullet trains. They are also needed for the transportation of many goods. This informational volume details the important parts of the train, focusing especially on the ones that help the vehicle move. Kids are introduced to train personnel, including the conductor, who drives the train and welcomes all of its passengers. With all of the markers of a strong nonfiction title, this would make a great introduction to informational texts for young researchers and a great resource for reports.VERDICT All aboard! This is a fun and informative book about locomotives for Spanish-language early elementary collections.—Melanie Ortega - Copyright 2024 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
