School Library Journal - 08/01/2016 Gr 2–4—While a group of prefixes eagerly wait for the school day to begin, they practice their cheer. ("We are the PREfixes and no one could be prouder. If you cannot hear us, we'll REyell a little louder.") The first person to arrive is Abraham Lincoln. The prefixes are very confused about the "Undead" president appearing in the class, until the students show up and reveal that Abraham Lincoln is in fact their teacher, Mr. Wright. Mr. Wright has dressed up for Leadership Day. The disappointed prefixes impatiently wait to be reviewed in the day's lesson. The goal of introducing prefixes is somewhat undermined by the inclusion of facts about Abraham Lincoln and a lesson about what it means to be a leader. The prefixes are portrayed as clay and pipe cleaner sculptures that look more messy than cute. In addition, some of the text is a bit awkward: "I'd DISbelieve this if I weren't seeing it with my own eyes!" or "We don't want to go down in history as UNhumble leaders."
