Each of 11 profiled individuals has two pages dedicated to them, with their name, location, and information about their everyday life and profession. Illustrations depict important activities they might encounter on the job, and another page is dedicated to the tools they need to help others. Readers will meet a pediatric nurse from Spain, a veterinarian from New York, a flying doctor from Australia, and many others, while bright, eye-catching illustrations—along with photographs—capture details from the lives of these heroes. Additional information about other community lifesavers is included, along with recommended websites.
