School Library Journal - 05/01/2025 Gr 5 Up—In the medieval village of Varagog, a young warrior named Skerren is about to be named the king's heir after saving him from near death. Right before the proclamation, Zorn, son of the previous king, returns to claim his birthright as the rightful heir. A contest organized between the two young men to see who deserves the title. But everyone's intentions maybe not be what they seem. This series starter is set in the same Imagine Nation as the author's acclaimed "Jack Blank" series. While medieval action and adventure dominate Varagog, other realms in the Imagine Nation thrive on secrets, robots, space travel, or even martial arts. The author has definitely created a world that can support many adventures. VERDICT Readers' imaginations will soar in this fantasy action series.
