Booklist - 03/15/2012 The third entry in the Six Crowns series finds homebody hedgehog Trundle Boldoak, spirited Roamany hedgehog Esmeralda Lightfoot, and minstrel squirrel Jack Nimble seeking the legendary phoenix and third crown in their continuing quest. But they’re waylaid upon discovering Swallowhaven under siege by nemesis Captain Grizzletusk’s pirates and are recruited to battle. With lively animal characters, classic storytelling flair, suspense, and humor (which is occasionally coarse—think cantankerous, gaseous phoenix!), as well as interspersed line illustrations, this is an entertaining, fast-paced entry in the fantasy-adventure series that followers will especially enjoy. - Copyright 2012 Booklist.
