Full Text Reviews:

School Library Journal - 05/01/2025 Gr 3–5—Muffin is a tidy, organized guinea pig who is thrilled to have her own space when she gets a new home—until Ziggy, a high-energy, mess-loving guinea pig, moves in. Just as Muffin struggles to adjust, a secret door appears, transporting them to Piggie-Town, where they magically arrive dressed as carrots. There, they meet the Sparkle Pigs, a group of guinea pigs who love adventures. Together, they go on a scavenger hunt and save the carrot party before returning home. In later titles, Muffin and Ziggy are featured in the Grand Sparkle Parade, and the annual Sparkle Pig Talent Show takes a surprising turn when all the sparkle pigs turn into bunnies. The black-and-white illustrations add charm, and each chapter ends with a bit of encouragement for readers. While the storytelling initially feels rushed, it finds its rhythm as readers settle into the whimsical world. VERDICT A lighthearted, quirky series best suited for collections looking to add more guinea pig–themed chapter books. - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
