Full Text Reviews:

School Library Journal - 02/01/2013 K-Gr 3—Joining the many books for children about illnesses, these titles aptly cover the topics for this audience. Each one starts with information about what the condition is, what causes it, signs and symptoms, and how it is contracted. The books also detail what will happen when a child goes to the doctor, how the illness is treated, and how to prevent its recurrence. The texts are a bit lengthy at times, and the sentences spread awkwardly across two pages, which may cause beginning readers to stumble. The colorful page layouts add interest even though they contain mostly stock photos. These titles are suitable for collections that need updated books on these subjects; otherwise they're additional purchases.—Nancy Jo Lambert, Ruth Borchardt Elementary, Plano, TX - Copyright 2013 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
