School Library Journal - 04/01/2025 PreS-K—Many young children are fascinated by trucks. They are big, have moving parts, and are usually noisy. Fairbank has written a book that children will find absolutely captivating, and something they will want to read repeatedly. Fairbank uses her talent of poetry to happily and inclusively tell the story of a neighborhood of young animals that wave hello and wish luck to the drivers of eight different trucks that come down their street, as they await their favorite truck of all, the ice cream truck, to arrive at 3:00 p.m. Fairbank's love of trucks and animals is evident by her words and expressed exquisitely by Runyan. A note about safety regarding children running into streets where drivers might not see them would be helpful, as would addressing that daily ice cream purchases may not be feasible or healthy for children. VERDICT Art and text are a perfect match that all picture book lovers, especially young children, will continuously enjoy.—Laura Ellis - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
