Full Text Reviews:

School Library Journal - 07/19/2024 Gr 2–4—Did you know that the mother sea turtle doesn't take care of her young when they are born? Or how much different species of turtles weigh? These and many other interesting facts about turtles are covered in this emerging reader. While it is simplified for younger audiences, this book requires a fluent reader, as advanced vocabulary and concepts are presented. Many different species of turtle are explored within this short text. The photographs are awe-inspiring and give readers a real in-depth look at the body, habitat, and eggs of a turtle. This would be beneficial for the elementary reader interested in turtles, or doing research on varying types of turtles for a project. VERDICT Recommended for general purchase for easy reader/emerging reader collections as a useful introduction to nonfiction during reading development.—Kristen Todd-Wurm - Copyright 2024 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
